It's difficult to put your spine in a glass of water for the night.

Do you know how teeth were treated back in the 1960s? Exactly, they often weren't treated. No one had told people that teeth should be cared for regularly throughout life.
It was expected that teeth would start hurting and aching. Then you would go to the doctor, who would give you painkillers to try to mask the pain. The pain was treated with varying degrees of success until the teeth wore out and rotted in the mouth. Then pliers were used to pull the teeth out.
For confirmation gifts, people received dentures; nowadays, they get a moped or scooter ;)
In the old days, people thought that teeth shouldn't be brushed – at least not every day. The enamel would wear away. And why brush them if they don't hurt? Brush them when they start to hurt.
In an article in Helsingin Sanomat (Finland) on October 9, 2004, Professor Hannu Hausen of social dentistry talked about the state of teeth in the 1960s and 1970s. He said:
"The dental situation was so indescribably shocking back then that it's hard to understand today. Teeth were removed by the bucketful, and full dentures were made for confirmation-age children. A change had to happen."
And they have indeed achieved a great change. They told people that teeth can and should be brushed at least twice a day from infancy to the grave. Nowadays, when a child turns ½-1 year old, they are invited to the dentist for the first time.
Dental care begins before a child even has all their teeth. Thanks to regular dental care, those born in the 1970s generally still have their own teeth.
Do you know how the spine was treated in the 1960s? Do you know how it is still treated today? It isn't treated. No one has told you that the spine should be cared for regularly throughout life.
If your back doesn't hurt, you think it's fine. Then, when your back does hurt, you go to the doctor, who, after diagnosing you with "Functional nonspecific back pain," usually gives you anti-inflammatory medication and relaxants.
You wait for your back to hurt. Then the pain is treated, and you wait for your back to wear out and rot until it needs surgery. This is how teeth were treated back in the 1960s.
According to the diagnosis, your back DOES NOT FUNCTION normally, but you are given pain-masking medications. If they don't help, you get stronger and stronger medications until you no longer feel the pain.
This can go on for years until the degeneration and disc narrowing in your spine are so severe that your back needs surgery. First, the herniated disc is operated on, and later the spinal canal stenosis.
And you are told that it's due to your age or it's a hereditary issue. Neither is true. If your father's back was operated on, it was because he didn't care for his back either. If it were due to your age, the wear and tear would be the same in all parts of the spine since they all aged simultaneously.
Your spine wears out prematurely just like teeth if they aren't cared for. Normally functioning spinal joints ensure good metabolism in the discs throughout life, preventing them from breaking down. If your spinal posture is poor and joint function is not normal, your spine wears out and needs surgery.
Spinal wear and tear are the number one cause of premature retirement. However, this doesn't have to be the case for you.
A university-trained chiropractor is educated to examine and correct problems in your spinal posture and FUNCTION. Spinal care, just like dental care, should start in childhood. The first functional problems in the spine may appear during childbirth.
Later in life, falls, car accidents, sports injuries, work postures, overexertion, lack of exercise, and many everyday activities cause blockages and dysfunctions in your spine that require correction – long before they cause pain or other symptoms.
Through regular chiropractic care, exercise, and a good diet, your spine can last a lifetime.
